Generic Study Guide for AP Human Geography

Vocabulary

• Check the vocabulary list at the end of each chapter.

• Use lists given out in class.

• Make flashcards or concept/mind maps for terms you have difficulty remembering.

• Add any vocabulary learned through class activities.

Models/Theories

• Fill out a model sheet for each model or theory studied.

• Apply the model to your adopted country.

• “Talk back” or teach the model to someone.

Review the Key Issues for each chapter in the unit

• Can you answer the questions?

• Read the summary at the end of each chapter.

• Answer Thinking Geographically at the end of each chapter.

General content

• Review visuals and case studies in the chapters adding to your “warehouse” of information to bring to your “worktable” for FRQ’s.

• Summarize notes and class activites.

• Keep your notebook up-to-date and organized.

• Be sure that you can locate every country that we discuss on a map.

• Practice “mental mapping”.
